The Distribution Center Lead is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for day‑to‑day supervision of warehouse operations. This position ensures accuracy, service excellence, safety compliance, and operational efficiency within the distribution center. The role includes direct oversight of 2 staff members, coordination of workflow, and participation in warehouse activities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
* Prioritise, schedule, and assign daily workload to distribution staff.
* Supervise and motivate the team to ensure high service levels.
* Lead daily operational huddles and communicate performance updates.
* Partner with other DC Leads and operational managers to meet business objectives.
* Provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
Operations & Workflow
* Perform distribution tasks as needed, supporting a hands‑on leadership approach.
* Oversee order accuracy, material handling, and shipment timeliness.
* Ensure adequate supply levels for warehouse operations.
* Support minor equipment maintenance and escalate major issues.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
* Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety procedures.
* Uphold 5S standards across the facility.
* Support quality management processes and compliance with relevant industry standards.
* Ensure adherence to warehousing, hazmat, material handling, and shipping regulations.
* Protect warehouse assets by enforcing security protocols.
Customer Service
* Collaborate with internal teams to support customer needs and service delivery.
* Resolve resource issues promptly to maintain on‑time performance.
