<p><strong>BESS EPC Director - IPP - Germany</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>The Company</u></strong></p><p>A rapidly growing Independent Power Producer (IPP) focused on developing, building, and operating utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage assets across Germany and Europe. With a significant pipeline of projects under development and construction, the company is expanding its leadership team to support the delivery of large-scale BESS projects.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>The Role</u></strong></p><ul><li>The Director EPC will lead the execution and delivery of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from financial close through construction, commissioning, and commercial operation.</li><li>Reporting to senior leadership, this individual will oversee EPC strategy, contractor management, project delivery, and construction performance across a portfolio of projects, ensuring assets are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities</u></strong></p><ul><li>Lead the execution of utility-scale BESS projects through construction, commissioning, and handover.</li><li>Manage EPC contractors, key suppliers, and external delivery partners.</li><li>Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and risk management activities.</li><li>Ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory, contractual, and technical requirements.</li><li>Drive project governance, reporting, and stakeholder management across internal and external teams.</li><li>Support procurement, contract negotiations, and commercial decision-making throughout project delivery.</li><li>Coordinate with development, grid, engineering, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.</li><li>Identify and mitigate construction, commercial, and technical risks.</li><li>Build and develop internal project delivery capabilities as the portfolio continues to scale.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Profile</u></strong></p><ul><li>Extensive experience delivering large-scale energy infrastructure projects, ideally within BESS, renewables, transmission, or related sectors.</li><li>Proven track record managing EPC contracts and complex construction programmes.</li><li>Strong commercial, contractual, and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and external contractors.</li><li>Sound understanding of project controls, risk management, and construction best practices.</li><li>Fluent German and English language skills are advantageous.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you have the skills to match, please apply today, or reach out to Jake.rogerson@hunterphilips.com</p>
