Fairtrade International (FI) is responsible for developing, monitoring, and reviewing these standards and the economic benefit mechanisms to promote the empowerment of certified producers. As the owner of the Fairtrade Scheme and Certification Marks, FI ensures the scheme's credibility, supports producers in obtaining and maintaining certification, and helps them capitalize on market opportunities.

Objective / Purpose :
The post holder will manage responsibilities related to assurance, licensing, and compliance as the scheme owner.
They will lead the development and implementation of Fairtrade International's Compliance Management System, oversee the Whistle-Blowing System, and promote a culture of openness where employees and partners can speak up.
The post holder will serve as the key coordinator for compliance matters and provide advice to the Board and Senior Management as needed.
Core Responsibilities :
1. Manage oversight mechanisms, structures (including Committees and Bodies), processes, and procedures, including implementing improvements.
2. Support the implementation of a comprehensive compliance management system for Fairtrade.
3. Maintain relations with members regarding assurance and licensing oversight mechanisms.
4. Audit and oversee the implementation of assurance and licensing processes, procedures, and policies by member organizations.
5. Assist member organizations in implementing compliance structures as per the Fairtrade Organization Code.
6. Coordinate with accreditation and umbrella bodies (e.g., Dakks, ISEAL) regarding oversight and compliance issues.
7. Communicate and train stakeholders on scheme ownership and compliance matters.
