DC-BerlinThe General Manager has ultimate responsibility for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of the Distribution Center (DC) in accordance with company policies, procedures and applicable laws. The GM utilizes information from Supply Chain Planning and Analysis, and the DC management team to provide operational decisions, leadership, and direction to achieve DC operational objectives.Major ActivitiesManages all aspects of DC operations to achieve operational objectives for Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Teamwork and drive an environment that promotes high quality customer service to internal and external customers. Finalizes and approves daily plans and workload with the AGM and Operations Managers to ensure daily goals and objectives are achieved.Responsible for developing intermediate and long-term operational plans for the DC, including equipment needs, staffing levels, and inventory management.Ensures that all departments are performing efficiently and accurately in accordance with DC and department goals.Responsible for the overall financial management of the DC, including budget development, re-forecasting, and achievement. Monitors and approves all expenditures including payroll administration, building maintenance, and requests for capital. Monitors and verifies P & L reports to ensure the DC is tracking well against expectations.Maintains contact with Zone Vice Presidents, District Managers and Store Managers to prevent or resolve problems and ensure appropriate levels of store service. Partners effectively with Transportation team to ensue delivery schedules are maintained.Mentors and advises DC leaders with regard to operational and strategic decision making. Leads succession planning efforts and development efforts to build a strong leadership team and bench strength.Communicates timely information to the VP of Logistics, Support Center team, DC leaders and DC team members. Notifies VP of Logistics of any critical issues regarding DC operations or customer service issues. Conducts daily operational meetings, staff meetings, and general communication meetings to provide company information, open lines of communication, and build trust with team members.Partners with Loss Prevention and DC leadership to drive Safety results and ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
