Planning & Dispatch Team Leader – Public Safety Services (Industrial & Electrical Sectors)
We are seeking an experienced and proactive leader to strengthen our Planning & Dispatch team within the public safety sector. This position will oversee a team of four planners/dispatchers, streamline processes and workflows, enhance customer service standards, and coordinate the scheduling of a regional field force of around 100 service technicians.
The ideal candidate is a motivating people manager with a strong background in planning, scheduling, and dispatch operations, who can drive performance and foster a results-oriented team culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a team of four planners/dispatchers through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on support.
* Improve customer service standards by implementing best practices and efficient scheduling processes.
* Plan, coordinate, and optimize the daily schedules of ~100 field service technicians to ensure effective resource allocation and timely service delivery.
* Collaborate closely with three additional planning managers to drive consistency, teamwork, and high performance across the function.
* Introduce training and development programs to continuously improve team skills and capabilities.
* Continuously enhance planning and dispatch workflows to increase operational efficiency.
* Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals and client expectations.
Requirements
* Proven experience in workforce planning, dispatching, or project scheduling in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong leadership skills with a track record of coaching and developing teams.
* Ability to manage high volumes of work and adapt to changing business needs.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise effectively with technicians, managers, and clients.
* Background in logistics, operations, or service coordination is highly desirable.
