Job Description Summary You are responsible for the oversight and project management of clinical trials across the entire portfolio—both globally and locally—ensuring alignment with Novartis processes, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable regulatory requirements. This includes the operational management of Portfolio Team Leads. Additionally, you are accountable for developing a strategy for portfolio execution in close collaboration with the SSO Hub Head Portfolio, SSO Country Head, Country Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), and Global Clinical Teams, with the objective of ensuring effective and high-quality study delivery. LI-hybrid Job Description Your Responsibilities Drive country-level planning and execution of the clinical study portfolio in alignment with the global strategy. Support strategic implementation and risk mitigation by providing feedback from the country to the global hub. Leverage local opportunities to create competitive advantages for clinical trials. Prepare the country for upcoming programs and indications in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure strategic site selection and feasibility to optimize study allocation and patient recruitment. Guarantee compliance with GCP, SOPs, ethics, and data quality standards. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice sharing in study execution. Lead the hiring, development, and retention of talent in accordance with Novartis standards. What You Bring to the Role A Master’s degree (or higher) in Life Sciences or Medicine. Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research. Proven team management and leadership skills, with at least 4 years of experience leading teams and managing leaders. A solid understanding of all aspects of clinical drug development, particularly clinical study design, execution, and project management. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Excellent knowledge of clinical drug development processes. Why Novartis?
