If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc. As Director of Operations (m/f/d), you will be the first point of contact in our hotel for our operational departments, supporting them with your expertise and modern management style in all matters and concerns of our guests in day-to-day operations. In doing so, you will not only create a guest-oriented atmosphere, but also ensure compliance with standards in your role. As the deputy to our General Manager, you will work with the management team to define the operational strategy of the hotel and support its implementation. Your most important tasks will include: • You will assume operational responsibility for hotel operations and act as the deputy to the General Manager. • In day-to-day business and challenging situations, as well as for department heads, you will be the first point of contact for all operational matters in the hotel. • Together with the department heads, you are responsible for the employees of all operational departments (lounge, restaurant, kitchen, banquet, front office, housekeeping, technology) and are jointly responsible for their further development and motivation. • You will define the operational strategy of the hotel in collaboration with the General Manager and the management team and will be responsible for its implementation with the support of all those involved. • You see yourself as a well-being partner and support the continuous implementation of our Westin philosophy, thus creating a feel-good atmosphere in all areas that meets the high standards of our guests' requirements. • Your role also includes performing duty shifts. • Together with the team, you will manage the financial and other key figures for the hotel. • You will be responsible for preparing the monthly forecast and the overall budget for your area. • You will ensure effective teamwork through regular communication. • You will design and manage projects and use creative ideas to ensure that our international guests recognise us. What makes you special: • You already have professional experience in a managerial position in a comparable role, ideally in a leading international hotel. • You have completed training as a hotel specialist or hotel manager and/or, preferably, a degree in tourism/hotel management with several years of proven practical experience in various management positions in the hotel industry. • You are experienced in preparing cost analyses, forecasts and budgets. • You are a passionate host who manages to balance the guest experience with high employee satisfaction. • You are tech-savvy and able to make connections. • You enjoy working in a team and foster a strong team spirit and creativity within and between your departments. • You are empathetic, motivated and have excellent manners. • We require excellent written and spoken German and English skills; additional foreign languages would be desirable. • You are proficient in MS Office programmes and Opera PMS. • You have excellent communication skills and can create meaningful presentations. • A sense of responsibility and quality awareness are a matter of course for you. • You are characterised by independent, results-oriented and creative thinking. • You enjoy being a quality-conscious host and impress with your charisma.
