Position Overview:
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in Berlin, supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in financial modeling, and a solid understanding of local and international financial regulations. This role requires fluency in both German and English, as it involves collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in optimizing financial performance, preparing reports, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyze project-based financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) calculations for each project.
* Monitor and track budget vs. actual costs to assess project performance.
* Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to project managers, quantity surveyors and leadership.
* Collaborate with the project teams to ensure cost control and financial efficiency.
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts for projects and corporate financials.
* Support working capital and cash flow forecasting, ensuring adequate liquidity for ongoing operations.
* Contribute to the long-term financial planning of the company, aligning projections with business growth.
* Support transfer pricing activities for intercompany transactions across different jurisdictions.
* Ensure compliance with international tax regulations and financial reporting standards (IFRS, HGB).
* Assist in a audits relating to regulatory compliance.
* Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
* Support the cashflow management process, including tracking supplier payments, subcontractor invoices, and client billing cycles.
* Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
* Develop dashboards and financial KPIs to support data-driven decision-making.
* Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support business strategies and operational improvements.
* Assist in rolling out of new systems to increase efficiency
* Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in financial processes.
Qualifications & Skills Required
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis (construction industry experience is a plus).
* Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
* Good command of English and German language
* Experience with project-based accounting and cost tracking.
* Familiarity with transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
* Proficiency in Excel, and financial reporting tools.
* Knowledge of IFRS, HGB, and other relevant financial regulations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
