Job Description Business Development Lead – Düsseldorf Location: Düsseldorf Languages: Fluent German Working Proficiency in English Salary: €120,000–€150,000 bonus benefits About the Company Solis Recruitment is supporting a rapidly scaling digital commerce platform expanding its seller ecosystem across Germany. The company is strengthening its inbound acquisition model and is now hiring a Business Development Lead to shape and scale its Düsseldorf function. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a high‑growth environment, operates with strong commercial focus, and enjoys building teams and processes from the ground up. About the Role You will lead a remote Business Development team focused on managing inbound leads, onboarding new sellers, and driving strong early activation. You will own team performance, workflow optimisation, and operational consistency with the remit to scale as the business expands. Success requires a proactive, structured, and data‑driven approach to commercial operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Lead & Develop a High‑Performance Remote BD Team Hire, train, and manage a remote BD team of 10–15 executives. Establish a structured operating rhythm with daily KPI tracking and weekly performance reviews. Provide hands‑on coaching in lead qualification, conversion tactics, and onboarding workflow. Build a strong remote team culture centred on accountability and output. 2. Inbound BD Process & Seller Activation Implement a standardised workflow covering outreach → qualification → negotiation → onboarding. Create detailed playbooks, scripts, and templates to enable consistency. Maintain strong SLA management and pipeline hygiene. Oversee onboarding quality to ensure sellers are ready for early commercial results. 3. Performance Monitoring, Reporting & Optimisation Track KPIs such as conversion, onboarding cycle time, and activation metrics. Analyse trends to identify root causes and introduce targeted improvements. Deliver training, process enhancements, and tooling updates. Provide clear performance insights and updates to senior leadership. Requirements 5 years in Business Development with at least 2 years leading remote teams. Demonstrated success scaling BD teams with structured workflows. Strong analytical capability and data‑backed decision‑making approach. Fluent German working proficiency in English. Bachelor’s degree. Experience working at eCommerce platforms or specialist management consultancies would be highly relevant and beneficial. Preferred Marketplace or digital commerce background. CRM/BD tooling experience. Proven ability to motivate and develop distributed teams.
