About SE3 SE3 Labs builds Spatial AI by combining 3D computer vision and large language models (LLMs). Ultimately, our AI will solve the spatial Turing test: It will be able to answer any question about 3D data that a human analyst could answer. Spatial AI will unlock tremendous value in industries like construction, smart infrastructure, smart factories, and defense. As our long-term vision, our spatial AI is a crucial building block for enabling LLM-controlled humanoid robots. Our team consists of computer vision experts and repeat founders, who have worked with Elon Musk at Tesla and at Nvidia, KPMG, Bosch, and Artisense. Daniel is the president of the European Computer Vision Association. Within our first year, we have secured mid-six-digit revenue and aim for seven-digits in 2025. We are a dual-use tech company selling to civil customers and the German armed forces. We will expand internationally in the next six months. We just raised a heavily over-subscribed financing round from Europe's best VCs ( Midas List Europe ) and world-class angel investors (unicorn founders, Sequoia scout, Princeton professor, etc.). We are part of EWOR. About the Role As a Founding Drone Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and refining our drone systems from hardware to software Working closely with Lukas (CEO) and Simon (CTO), you will be responsible for the complete drone engineering stack, ensuring seamless integration between our advanced AI capabilities and drone hardware and software systems. What you might work on Developing and optimizing embedded flight control algorithms and real-time control loops for autonomous drones. Integrating high-level perception data with PX4, ArduPilot, and other autopilot frameworks. Implementing and testing communication protocols of drone subsystems and sensors. Communicating directly with drone autopilot systems and understanding flight control architectures. Integrating sensors (cameras, IMUs, GPS, etc.) with drone hardware, software and electronics. Enhancing real-time flight dynamics, motor control, PID tuning, and state estimation. Collaborating with the engineering team to enable robust, real-world drone autonomy. What we are looking for Strong background in mechatronics, robotics, electrical / mechanical engineering or related disciplines. Experience working with PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, MAVROS, or similar frameworks. Understanding of flight dynamics, control theory, and real-time systems. Familiarity with drone hardware, embedded electronics / sensors, and radio communication technology. SE3 strives to be the place where high-potential individuals can do their best work. We value quick learning and grit just as much as skill and experience. Perks & Benefits Company equity: We offer above-average equity compensation (real equity, no virtual shares). 31 days of paid leave: We offer 30 days of annual leave, plus an extra day off to celebrate your birthday. Team activities: We organize at least 2x company offsite per year. The last one was at ECCV in Milan and the next one will be in Greece. Fitness and Well-Being: Through our partner E-GYM Wellpass, we offer you access to a comprehensive fitness program — including premium gyms, climbing, and much more. Process Intro Call (virtual, 15 minutes): This is our chance to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your background, your motivations, and why you’re interested in SE3 Labs. You’ll also learn more about our mission, the role, and the team. Coding Interview (flexible, ~60 minutes): In this interview, we want to understand your technical background better. We will share more details about the type of interview in the first call so that you can prepare accordingly. Theory Interview (flexible, ~30 minutes): We will discuss fundamental concepts in 3D computer vision and AI. Dinner/lunch (in person): We would love to get to know you in person and tell you about how we work at SE3.
