In 2021, we established Global Business Solutions (GBS) by leveraging a traditional shared service model to cover Finance and P&O (HR) transactional services. GBS has a shared services center in Warsaw, and finance hubs in Sweden, Germany and the UK.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Finance Director and Country Officer for Germany to lead our financial operations and represent our organization.
All About The Role:
The Finance Director / Country Officer is responsible for leading all financial management, compliance, and governance activities within the assigned country or regional hub. The role combines strategic financial leadership, operational excellence, and legal entity oversight to support sustainable business growth and safeguard financial integrity.
This position reports to VP Global Business Solutions. You will be part of the GBS leadership team.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee all financial Accounting activities
2. Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards
3. Develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals
4. Provide insightful financial guidance to the executive team and stakeholders
5. Lead financial audits and collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
6. Represent the organization in all country-specific matters, acting as the primary local contact
7. Oversee risk management processes and ensure robust internal controls.
8. Responsibility of end year closing in Germany for all legal entities
9. Support business development and evaluate investment opportunities
10. Continuous development and improvement of collaboration, processes, and interfaces within the GBS organization
Requirements:
11. Successfully completed business studies with a focus on finance or comparable training with relevant additional qualifications
12. Extensive professional experience in a comparable management position with team responsibility, ideally within an international matrix structure
13. In-depth knowledge of preparing annual and consolidated financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS as well as corresponding reporting measures
14. Ideally, experience in implementing globalized processes
15. Ideally, experience in change management issues
16. Expertise in using common MS Office applications, especially Excel
17. High degree of initiative, solution and process orientation, as well as an independent and structured way of working
18. Proven experience in leading and managing teams and employees
19. Good understanding of how an international corporation works
20. Strong IT affinity, especially in SAP, hands-on mentality desirable
21. Very good written and spoken German and English skills
