We are looking for a
QA External Manufacturing Lead (w/m/d) based in Langenfeld or Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona)
Your Responsibilities – what you can expect from us:
1. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the technical activities of the QA External Manufacturing Specialists within the team to ensure execution and alignment with the strategic objectives of the department
2. Ensure GMP-compliant QA oversight of external manufacturing partners (CMOs)
3. Drive quality processes incl. deviations, CAPAs, change controls and product quality reviews
4. Review and approve key quality documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
5. Identify, escalate and resolve complex quality issues with cross-functional stakeholders
6. Contribute to product lifecycle management (e.g. tech transfers, launches, continuous improvement)
7. Support audits, inspections and supplier qualification activities.
8. Foster strong collaboration between QA, internal teams and external partners to ensure reliable supply
Your Profile – what you bring:
9. 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in a GMP-regulated environment, ideally with exposure to external manufacturing (CMOs)
10. Strong understanding of quality systems and processes (e.g. deviations, investigations, complaints, audits)
11. Confident handling of common IT tools (e.g. MS Office, SAP, LIMS)
12. Analytical, structured and solution-oriented way of working
13. High level of quality awareness combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
14. Resilient and able to perform effectively in a dynamic environment
15. Collaborative team player with the ability to empower and support others
16. Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering (e.g. Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology); advanced qualification is a plus
17. Very good English skills; German and/or Spanish are an advantage
18. Willingness to travel internationally (up to 30%)
