As Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll support the design, installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of electrode mixing and powder handling systems in our high-volume battery cell production lines. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing processes.
Your work will directly impact Tesla’s global production goals and set benchmarks for next-generation cell manufacturing systems.
What You’ll Do
* Assist in the design, commissioning and ramp-up of new or modified equipment in the electrode mixing and dry mixing processes.
* Support troubleshooting of equipment issues under supervision, including root cause analysis and coordination of action plans with contractors / maintenance teams.
* Participate in the review of technical drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics) and documentation with guidance from senior engineers.
* Document equipment procedures, maintenance routines, and operational guidelines.
* Contribute to safety assessments and equipment improvement initiatives in collaboration with EHS and QA teams.
* Support supplier coordination, including equipment inspections, buy-offs, and tracking of deliverables.
* Assist in identifying critical spare parts and support inventory planning for key components.
* Have basic knowledge and/or hands-on experience with powder handling equipment design, automation systems, electrical checks (IOs), or basic troubleshooting of mixing equipment.
What You’ll Bring
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
* 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or technical support roles (automotive, battery, chemical, or industrial manufacturing preferred).
* Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
* Familiarity with technical documentation, drawings, or safety standards (e.g., P&IDs, basic FMEA concepts) is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly across departments.
* Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email) and comfort with digital tools used in production environments.
* Willingness to work in a production setting, including shift work if required.
* Powder handling system, Electrical safety, automation or ATEX knowledge is a plus
* Fluency in English required; German is a plus
