As a Tracking Engineer, you will design and operate a privacy-first tracking infrastructure that fuels Eventim’s data-driven marketing and analytics. You’ll build scalable client- and server-side tagging systems across web and app platforms, ensuring accurate, compliant, and high-quality data flows that power Europe’s leading live entertainment platform. Working closely with Marketing, Product, Privacy, and Engineering, you’ll enable smarter measurement and performance optimization at scale. Key Responsibilities: Design and lead the architecture of client- and server-side tracking across Web and App environments. Implement and maintain a robust Google Tag Manager (GTM) setup, including reusable templates, scalable DataLayer structures, and technical documentation. Build and optimize server-side tracking infrastructure in Google Cloud (Cloud Run, GTM Server, routing layer) to enhance privacy, performance, and reliability. Develop and integrate vendor connectors (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.) and consent logic for consistent, compliant event processing. Enable cross-functional teams by creating self-service tools, documentation, and QA processes for accurate, compliant tracking. Ensure data quality and observability across all tracking pipelines through testing, monitoring, and CI/CD automation (Terraform, GitHub Actions). Collaborate and align with stakeholders to translate business and privacy requirements into reliable, scalable technical solutions. Continuously improve tracking efficiency, cost optimization, and adherence to evolving privacy regulations (e.g., Consent Mode updates, TCF 2.2). Key Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field. 5 years of experience in digital analytics or marketing data engineering. Expert knowledge of Google Tag Manager (Web & Firebase/App), GA4, and DataLayer structuring. Advanced skills in Server-Side GTM, tracking APIs (Meta CAPI, GA4 MPv2), and consent integrations. Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Load Balancer, IAM, cost control). Proficient in Python and JavaScript, including debugging and browser DevTools. Experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and observability frameworks. Familiarity with privacy and consent frameworks (CMP, TCF 2.2, Consent Mode). Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Privacy).
