POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to deliver hands-on technical support for our vehicles across Germany and beyond. In this varied and autonomous role, you’ll diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and bodywork issues, helping ensure maximum vehicle availability and customer satisfaction. If you’re a qualified mechatronics engineer with strong German and English skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving – we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
* Maintain customer vehicle availability, through a combination of hands-on resolution of technical issues with the vehicles, as well as leaning on third party support networks for more complex issues.
* Upon arrival at customer sites, you will get in touch with contact persons to understand technical issues. Thereafter you will quickly and diligently to further diagnose problems, completing all repairs in a health and safety conscious and timely manner.
* This will be a combination of reactive, as well as preventative maintenance and repair activities as per documented schedules and standards.
* Coordinate and supervise defect resolution in cases that are to be looked after by other technicians (this includes ensuring availability of vehicles, parts, materials, tools, diagnostic devices).
* Providing training to the customers employees as required.
* Seamless administrative recording and processing of activities that are performed by you (warranty applications, parts orders, job order entry, time recording, reporting and other administrative tasks).
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
* Qualified mechatronics engineer, with demonstrable experience in the repair and maintenance of buses, including body, electrical and mechanical.
* Electrical diagnostic skills will include the use of ‘Multiplexer’ systems.
* IT literate, being comfortable with Microsoft packages, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
* Systematic and clean way of working, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
* Dependable, punctual and reliable, with excellent self-organising and planning skills.
* Customer focused, with the appropriate level of skills to communicate on a technical and commercial level.
* Strong German and English language skills (written and verbal).
* Appropriate Driving License(s) - C / CE an advantage
* Able and prepared to work overtime and out of hours as required, as well as spending time in other countries as required
