Role: Technical Asset Manager - Solar PV

The Role
As Technical Asset Manager, you’ll take the lead on ensuring the long-term health, performance, and optimisation of utility-scale solar PV assets across Germany. This is a technical role with strong commercial alignment, balancing plant yield, operational costs, and capex initiatives to maximise value.
You’ll be the key figure across your assigned plants, managing contractors, driving retrofitting and revamping works, and resolving underperformance issues with smart, data-led decision-making. It’s a hands-on role that goes beyond reporting, you’ll directly shape the performance and profitability of high-value renewable assets.
Responsibilities
* Maximise plant output by ensuring high availability, performance, and long-term asset integrity
* Lead retrofit and repowering initiatives, including inverter upgrades and monitoring system improvements
* Supervise O&M and maintenance contractors, ensuring service quality and cost-effective delivery
* Review technical proposals and balance performance improvements with OPEX and revenue impact
* Analyse KPIs to detect underperformance trends and implement corrective actions
* Oversee compliance with HSE, ESG, and technical standards across all sites
* Conduct site visits and manage resolution of complex faults and repair works
* Maintain up-to-date plant documentation and ensure accurate technical data management
Requirements
* Fluent German and English
* Electrical engineering degree or equivalent technical background in solar PV
* Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing utility-scale PV assets in Germany
* Proven knowledge of O&M workflows, KPIs, fault handling, and compliance standards
* Experience working with or for O&M providers, EPCs, or technical consultancies
* Strong contractor management and commercial awareness in technical capex planning
* Familiarity with plant monitoring systems, inverter upgrades, and repowering projects
* Self-driven and comfortable working remotely with multi-stakeholder coordination
