Your Role and Responsibilities
In this position, you will have the opportunity to carry out daily HR transactions for one or more assigned business areas or countries while also handling complex and escalated tasks. You ensure a high level of customer satisfaction on a daily basis by committing to the complete, accurate, and timely execution of HR transactions. In addition, you demonstrate your expertise by supporting globally defined standards for HR operations and ensuring that the respective business processes comply with local legal and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will be part of the German Human Resources team within ABB AG, based in Mannheim.
You are responsible for:
* Advising HR departments and optimizing the existing payroll system (SAP HCM)
* Responsibility for the technical aspects of the monthly payroll run / Contact person for technical issues related to the initiation and execution of operational payroll as well as ALE postings to Accounting
* Contact person for domestic and international HR departments
* (Technical) realization / implementation of collective bargaining, legal, and company-specific requirements in payroll within SAP HCM
* Support in implementing year-end payroll activities from a technical perspective
* Independent maintenance of parameters, wage types, schemas & cycles, and simulation runs related to the payroll process in SAP HCM
* (Technical) updates of the certification system
* Customizing and support of tax and social security reporting (maintenance and upkeep of existing applications) as well as customizing of new applications (new legal requirements or in-house applications)
* Analysis, design, further development, optimization, and harmonization of payroll processes and functionalities
* Participation in defined project and special tasks; support in the implementation of a new payroll system in the supported countries (including the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Belgium)

Qualifications for the Role
* Successfully completed vocational training / university degree with a focus on Payroll / HR IT
* Extensive knowledge in consulting and application of SAP HCM
* Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and perseverance in implementing processes
* Independent working style with a structured approach and a high standard of quality and accuracy
* Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
