As an Electrical Systems Lead Engineer for Power Plant Projects, your day will start with prioritizing tasks to support your ambitious international project. You will craft the core of the Energy Transition for simple and combined power plant equipment, including Power Control Centers, Static Excitation Systems, Startup Frequency Converters, Protective Relaying Systems, and Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems. Most days will bring new challenges and opportunities to team up with a global cross-organizational team. Take responsibility for component requirements and design electrical auxiliaries for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Generators during project execution based on contracts, proposal documents, and engineering standards
Monitor engineering costs, staff-hour estimates, and time schedules, taking respective countermeasures to ensure project execution within time, budget, and quality constraints
Lead an Electrical Systems Team (typically 5 engineers) in a particular international execution project, providing guidance, instructions, and mentorship to less experienced team members
Coordinate work with other engineering departments, project managers, as well as erection and commissioning staff
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering (or similar studies) or an equal qualification in the field of energy engineering
~ Several years of experience in engineering and project execution for Electrical Systems such as LV/MV Switchgears, Battery Chargers, Cable and Cable Raceway Systems, Power Control Centers (PCCs, E-Houses), etc.
~ Knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Plants, Open Cycle and Nuclear Power Plants, Synchronous Machines, Protection Systems, Excitation and Static Frequency Converters, LV Transformers, and COMOS Systems is an advantage
~5% travel willingness to vendors, client offices, and project sites
~ Very good German and English skills
