Director of Product Management & Applications Engineering
Role summary The Director of Product Management & Application Engineering is responsible for defining and executing product strategy, leading the company’s application engineering function, and ensuring successful customer adoption of company technologies. This role connects market needs, customer technical requirements, and internal product development. The position drives product roadmap decisions, oversees public-facing product documentation, and ensures application engineering excellence across customer programs and technical engagements. The Director works cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to ensure products meet market needs and deliver strong customer value.
Product management Define and implement product strategy and roadmap aligned with company business objectives Translate customer & market feedback into product requirements and feature prioritization Define product positioning, value proposition, and differentiation vs competitors Work closely with engineering to scope new product development and improvements Support go-to-market planning with marketing and sales teams Track product performance, adoption, and customer satisfaction metrics Develop and maintain all externally accessible product documentation (datasheets, manuals, application notes, integration guides, etc.) Ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all public materials Coordinate with engineering, marketing, and applications teams to generate and maintain documentation Ensure documentation supports customer self-service and reduces support burden Maintain version control and update documentation alongside product
Application engineering Lead the company’s Application Engineering function and technical customer support strategy Manage, mentor, and develop Application Engineers Define application engineering workflows, tools, and technical best practices Ensure consistent technical messaging and customer support quality across regions and customers Act as escalation point for complex or strategic customer technical engagements Develop internal technical training for Application Engineers and Sales teams Allocate application engineering resources based on business priority and customer impact
The position is full time, Remote possible, physically located in Trondheim, Norway is a plus. Language skills beyond english are desired. English proficiency is mandatory. Eventual travelling to customers and to the HQ is expected. Total travelling is less than 30%.
