Job Title: Project Cycle Engineer / Regulatory Assurance Engineer / Mechanical Engineer - HVAC & Air to Water Heat Pump Systems
Department: Air Solution R&D - Eco Heating System
Location: Germany (covering EU regional markets)
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Project Cycle Engineer to join our European R&D hub. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of designing, localising, and launching next-generation HVAC and Air to Water Heat Pump (A2W HP) systems. Blending deep mechanical engineering knowledge with market insight and production follow-through, you'll help transform sustainable heating technologies into high-performing products for the European market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Mechanical Design
* Lead the end-to-end development of HVAC and A2W HP systems from concept to commercialisation
* Create mechanical designs for both in-house and outsourced components, including convectors, Hydro Units, and HPWH
* Adapt system designs for local production in Europe, focusing on component selection, assembly logic, and manufacturability
* Apply 3D CAD tools (NX CAD) to design indoor and tank-integrated Hydro units with precision and efficiency
* Implement low-GWP refrigerants (e.g., R290, R32) aligned with EU regulatory standards
Project Cycle Engineering
* Drive product life cycle tasks: documentation, verification testing, field validation, and support of mass production
* Investigate and address market feedback (VOC), identifying design flaws and delivering timely solutions
* Ensure on-time readiness for mass production, aligning R&D time lines with ETO and local factory capabilities
* Act as liaison between R&D, quality, and production teams to optimise the roll-out of products in European facilities
Market & Certification Strategy
* Conduct competitive analysis and benchmark studies to strengthen product positioning
* Guide products through regional certification processes (Keymark, MCS, Eurovent, NFPAC)
* Identify market trends in sustainable HVAC and drive product refinements that meet local demand and performance expectations
* Support patent tracking and technical intelligence gathering to inform future system innovation
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Mechanical, Thermal, Refrigeration, or HVAC Engineering
* At least 3 years of experience in R&D, with a strong background in HVAC or A2W HP structural development
* Hands-on experience with water piping systems in chillers or similar applications
* Familiarity with certification and compliance requirements for HVAC systems in the EU
* Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling (especially NX CAD) and detailed system layout design
* Understanding of thermodynamics, system control logic, and network design
* Exposure to VOC analysis, system optimisation, and mass production support
What We're Looking For
* A technically curious problem-solver who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments
* A communicator who can bridge the gap between design, manufacturing, and local business needs
* A sustainability-minded engineer ready to lead practical innovation in clean energy heating
* Someone who sees a challenge not as a constraint, but as a springboard for better engineering
Why This Role Stands Out
* Impact Beyond the Drawing Board: Be involved in full-cycle delivery from early R&D to on-the-ground production
* Green Engineering in Action: Work on low-GWP refrigerant technologies and future-proof systems for a de-carbonised Europe
* Pan-European Reach: Help tailor global technologies to perform, comply, and thrive in diverse local markets
* Real Ownership: Your work directly affects product competitiveness, quality, and market success.
