To support our German Team we are currently looking for a
Retail Area Manager (m/w/d)
As an Area Manager you will own and ensure all stores within the area adhere to operational policies and best practises, through store visits and consistent execution of audits on site. Utilising store results to drive corrective action planning and work with store management to deliver continual improvements, alongside supporting the Regional Manager with administrative tasks and projects to improve performance of the stores and the business. As a brand ambassador, you will drive team performance and create a working culture that embraces New Balance values in a fast paced and energetic environment.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To take full ownership of in-store operational execution across your respective stores.
2. To lead, guide and inspire teams throughout the area through regular feedback, coaching and celebrating success.
3. To take full responsibility for action plans, ensuring Retail Manager has regular feedback on progress and improvement plans.
4. Inventory count attendance and spot checking to drive best practice across stores. Post Inventory action planning reports to be provided regularly to the Retail Operations Manager.
5. To actively drive KPI’s such as sales, UPT, ATV and conversion through regular commercial report usage and walkthroughs at store level with the SM & ASM.
6. To provide cash and loss prevention support to all stores. To include regular reviews of collections, petty cash management, reviewing floats prior to business peaks and reporting any financial losses in a timely, effective manner.
7. To monitor and manage controllable costs in all stores, including items such as stationary, essential back of house items, minor repairs, and maintenance.
8. Ensure SMs are correctly raising their own PO’s.
9. Reviewing and managing stores P&L’s providing feedback to regional manager.
10. At least 4 days per week you will be based at stores performing retail game plan check lists and working together with the stores in your area.
11. Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
12. 5 years’ Retail management experience
13. Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets/budgets.
14. Proven people management, leadership skills and team player.
15. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
16. Ability to organise and manage projects.
17. Flexible working schedule to including weekends & holidays.
18. English proficiency. Ability to hold a conversation.
19. Commercially aware of the retail market/consumer trends
20. Experienced in working in a stand-alone role – autonomous and comfortable being remotely managed.
21. Sports and/of fashion knowledge a plus
22. Driving licence
