Medical Specialist Opportunity
We are seeking a medical specialist to join our team.
About the Role:
The selected candidate will be responsible for clinical diagnostics and consulting of patients, people at risk for genetic disease, and their families under supervision by medical doctors specialized in genetics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform clinical genetics, including molecular diagnostics and patient consultations;
* Gain experience in relevant genetic testing methodologies, including cytogenetics and molecular analysis;
* Interpretation and analysis of genetic test results, drafting of laboratory reports, technical validation of reports, in collaboration with laboratory scientists;
* Contribute to development of laboratory tests, including evaluation and validation of new genetic testing methodologies and technologies. Collaborate with laboratory personnel and researchers to support advancements in clinical genetics;
* Stay up-to-date with advancements in clinical genetics, genetic laboratory techniques, and relevant research. Attend conferences, workshops, and educational sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in the field;
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and participate in team meetings to enhance patient management;
* Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and genetic consultations.
Requirements:
* Completion of a medical degree (permit to practice medicine) from a recognized medical school or university;
* Licence to practice medicine from the relevant authority;
* A strong interest in genetic/medical issues and an exceptionally high level of motivation;
* Ability to work in a team, resilience, flexibility, ability to work under pressure, and high commitment characterize you;
* Knowledge of languages: mandatory English (business proficiency written and oral), and French or German. Luxembourgish is an asset.

We employ around 400 highly qualified staff with diverse backgrounds. Our main purpose is to develop analytical activities and scientific expertise relating to the prevention, diagnosis, and monitoring of human diseases; to act as a national control or reference laboratory; and to carry out forensic missions. We also collaborate with biomedical research institutions, both nationally and internationally, on research and teaching activities.
In the field of diagnostics, we cover medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine, environmental medicine, morphological and molecular pathology, and clinical genetics, as well as sequencing for rare diseases, oncology, and pathogens.
