Senior Program Manager – Interior Injection Molding (Mercedes-Benz Programs) (m/f/d) | CAIP Munich
CAIP, a leading manufacturer of high-quality injection-molded automotive interior components, is expanding its presence in Europe. Our Munich site, close to major automotive hubs, serves as a key innovation and development center.
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager – Interior Injection Molding (Mercedes-Benz Programs) (m/f/d) to lead high-impact initiatives across CAIP Group and factory partners, aligning stakeholders and resources to deliver complex programs on time, within budget, and to defined quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Management:
* Full responsibility for international vehicle programs from concept phase through start of series
* Management of multiple parallel projects including budget, timing, quality, and overall performance accountability
* Leadership of international, cross-functional project teams and primary interface to customers and senior management
* Ensuring transparent project reporting and regular status reviews at management and executive level
Product Development & Industrialization:
* Overall responsibility for the development and industrialization of complex interior modules and powertrain components
* Steering of design, process development, manufacturing concepts, tooling, prototyping, and quality assurance activities
* Implementation of innovative lightweight and series production concepts (e.g. aluminum spaceframes, battery housings, sandwich structures, charge air systems, instrument panels)
* Planning, sourcing, and optimization of production lines, tooling, and manufacturing equipment
* Responsibility for start-of-production (SOP) activities as well as change and claim management
* Preparation of cost calculations, business case evaluations, and negotiations with international customers and partners
Technology & Methods:
* Application and technical assessment of modern manufacturing and processing technologies, including injection molding, natural fiber technologies, foaming, bonding, leather processing, sewing, laminating, welding, aluminum die casting, and machining processes
* Technical evaluation of NVH, safety, crash, and mold flow simulations
* Experience with filtration and media lines as well as charge air systems is an advantage
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant quality standards, regulations, and legal requirements
Your Profile:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or a comparable qualification
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in project management with proven team leadership responsibility
* Solid initial experience in project development activities for major automotive OEMs
* Professional experience in Research & Development is a strong plus
* Experience in automotive interior systems (e.g. cockpit, HMI, trim) is an advantage
* Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with a confident professional demeanor
* Fluent in German and proficient in English
