The Operations & Key Account Management department plays a central role in combining logistics execution with customer relationship management. Our guiding principle is to transition from a traditional operations setup into a client-focused logistics service unit – and we live this in practice. The team is structured into two areas - Sea Freight and Air Freight - each led by a dedicated manager responsible for operational quality and key account success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Handling of import and export sea freight shipments (FCL and LCL) Communication with shipping lines, port agents, customs authorities, and global partners Preparation, checking, and management of shipping and customs documents (e.g., B/L, commercial invoices, certificates of origin) Monitoring of the full transport chain, including pre- and on-carriage by truck or rail Ensuring on-time shipment and arrival, considering commercial aspects Advising and supporting customers regarding logistics solutions and processes Input and maintenance of shipment data in the TMS Contribution to process optimization and development of logistics solutions REQUIREMENTS Several years of experience in sea freight operations (export/import) Solid knowledge of sea freight procedures, Incoterms, and international regulations Experience in communication with carriers, agents, and customs Proficient use of forwarding and customs software as well as MS Office Excellent German and English language skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Client-focused mindset and excellent communication skills Understanding of international supply chains and cross-cultural collaboration Structured, independent working style Team player with resilience and flexibility Solution-oriented mindset with a high standard of quality Willingness to engage in continuous learning SKILLS Knowledge of dangerous goods, temperature-controlled cargo, or project shipments Experience with customs and terminal systems (e.g., ATLAS, AES) Additional foreign language skills (especially Spanish or Chinese) Familiarity with sustainability requirements in sea freight Willingness to support customers on-site or attend trade fairs occasionally
