A Snapshot of Your Day Siemens Energy is seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our team of experts working on the HVDC and FACTS Control Systems. You will work collaboratively with multi-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain these critical control systems through software development and testing. You as the System Engineer will be responsible for analysing and solving complex system engineering problems, ensuring system stability and functionality, and implementing new features and capabilities as needed.How You’ll Make an Impact 
 1. Design, implement, and maintain HVDC and FACTS control systems
 2. Analyze and resolve complex system engineering issues
 3. Ensure system functionality through rigorous testing and maintenance
 4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new features
 5. Utilize advanced software for control and protection of HVDC and FACTS projects
 6. Leverage cloud technologies for automated simulations and define best practices in Matlab/Simulink
What You Bring
 7. University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
 8. First professional experience with HVDC or FACTS Control Systems is highly preferred 
 9. Proficiency in programming languages, such as Matlab and Python and System Engineering expertise with tools such as Simulink or PSCAD 
 10. Experience with software engineering tools and methods such as Git and Scrum/Kanban
 11. Strong communicator and collaborator with excellent self-organization, active listening, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
 12. Very good English language skills, German language skills are of advantage
