Purpose:
Provide advice on privacy legal matters, and support the business with various projects involving personal data processing in particular where consumer personal data is concerned. Support the Privacy Team with various projects, and implementation of the Global Privacy Management Policy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide advice and consultation on various business projects involving personal data with emphasis in the consumer area;
* Draft and review processes, privacy notices and consent statements to reflect privacy obligations by working closely with appropriate business stakeholders;
* Draft and negotiate data protection agreements (controller-controller; controller-proessor);
* Support and respond to consumer privacy queries and complaints;
* Research and stay knowledgeable of latest privacy legal developments from courts, regulators, and industry bodies;
* Embrace accountability for privacy through standardized and reusable privacy advice and conversion into demonstrable evidence;
* Support the Director Global Consumer Privacy implementing various privacy initiatives to advance organizational compliance with the Global Privacy Management Policy;
* Contribute to the achievement of consumer privacy team strategy;
* Support in the driving of an ethics and compliance culture; and
* Support in the implementation of initiatives and efficient processes, in close co-ordination with other legal and assurance functions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Strong knowledge of privacy law (particularly German BDSG, and GDPR), privacy principles, and privacy compliance frameworks
* Language requirements (verbal and written): English (Business Fluent) and German (Business Fluent). Other language skills a bonus
* Experience and knowledge in digital commerce, and digital technologies
* Creative thinker with great attention to detail, and ability to innovate and collaborate

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
* Law degree and bar qualification
* 2+ years in privacy law (or 4+ years in IT and/or TMT law)
* Experience in advising on privacy and/or digital marketing matters a plus
* Previous experience with in-house legal teams focusing on digital activities a plus
* Privacy qualifications a plus
* Previous experience with multinational companies selling consumer goods a plus
* Previous experience handling consumer queries a plus
