Purpose: PayByPhone is looking for a Junior Accountant in part-time with 25h/week. The Junior Accountant is supporting accounting workflows and processes for but not limited to the German entity of PayByPhone. This entails the maintenance of all steps in the Procurement-To-Pay process as well as the correct and complete recording of all AP transactions in the monthly and yearly financial reports. Furthermore, the DE Junior Accountant is supporting with bank reconciliations and the month and year end recording of prepaids, depreciation and accruals. Besides these tasks the role of DE Junior Accountant also covers the preparation of liquidity statements as well as support in liquidity forecasts. Responsibilities: Accounts Payable: Manage incoming invoices and ensure the proper procurement workflow (using the current Procurement Software) for the German subsidiary. Supporting the P2P workflow for other European PBP subsidiaries. Prepare payment of outstanding invoices. Record invoices and payments in current bookkeeping system. Month and Year end: Support with preparation of prepaids in coordination with the DE Financial Controller. Support with preparation of accruals in coordination with the DE Financial Controller. Support with preparation of depreciations in coordination with the DE Financial Controller. Support recording of transactions concerning all payment providers (including MNOs). Reconcile bank accounts. Support with payment provider reconciliation. Recording all credit card expenses. Reviewing and recording travel expenses. Liquidity Support in preparation of bimonthly liquidity reporting. Other Supporting payroll accounting in cooperation with the external tax consultant. Insight and interaction with other Departments of the German subsidiary. Stepping in for recurring tasks of German Finance team in case of vacation or sick leave. Required Skills and Experience: Training in Finance/Accounting or a comparable field - Career changers welcome! First work experience is desirable but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English. Very good IT skills including Word and Excel. Willingness to work in tech, fast-paced environment. You take ownership, are accountable and take initiative. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, particularly during month end. Able to gather, analyze and present material clearly. Able to prioritize work and flexible to adapt to changing priorities. Discretion and an understanding of how to appropriately handle confidential issues.
