We are looking for a
Director / Senior Manager, Commercial Development (m/f/d)
to join UPM Biorefining. In this pivotal role, you will drive disciplined commercial execution by shaping the framework and tools that enable strategic growth. At UPM Biorefining we combine the upstream energy, forestry, and pulp and paper value chains with downstream in the fuels, chemicals, plastics, rubbers and various other chemical and petrochemical value chains.
Biorefining is core to the growth of UPM with ambitious plans. One of our key must-win battles is disciplined commercial execution. The Director / Senior Manager, Commercial Development, is a key position to provide the framework for this.

What you will do
* Own and establish commercial best practices for all market segments in Biorefining
* Develop and maintain market segmentation and prioritization of segments in which the biorefining portfolio creates value
* Provide transparency on the value chain and relevant players and potential partners
* Run go-to-market studies and develop go-to-market strategies for target market segments
* Manage transparency toward pricing decisions and support Sales Directors to drive stringent pricing strategies, including value pricing, transactional pricing, and management of risks related to supply-side market exposure
* Own the development of tools employed in the commercial team
* Support the strategy development process from a commercial perspective
* Maintain and align key capabilities of the commercial team and coordinate training opportunities in cooperation with HR and line managers
Who you are
* Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is an advantage
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in management consulting or commercial roles establishing and implementing commercial structures
* Proven drive for profitable and sustainable solutions
* Relevant industry experience in Fuels, Chemicals, Plastics, Rubbers or Agro
* Strong background in strategic marketing, customer development, value proposition design, pricing strategy, and risk management in commercial decision-making
* Fluency in English; additional languages such as Finnish, German, or Chinese are considered an asset
