The Department of Botany at the Faculty of Biology/Chemistry of the University of Osnabrück is seeking, starting March 1, 2026, a
Research Assistant (m/f/d)
(salary group E 13 TV-L, 65%)
initially for the duration of three years.
The project of the DFG Research Unit "Innovation and Coevolution in sexual reproduction of plants" (ICIPS, FOR 5098, ) investigates the role of TGA transcription factors and their ROXY co-regulators. TGA/ROXY functions and redox processes will be studied in the context of reproductive organ development and adaptation to stress factors in evolutionarily informative liverworts and Arabidopsis thaliana .
Your tasks:
* Molecular and morphological analyses of TGA/ROXY functions
* Use of Marchantia polymorpha and the new amphibious liverwort model system Riccia fluitans
* Expression, metabolome und redox sensor analyses
* Data evaluation and publication writing
* Opportunity to work towards a PhD outside working hours
Requirements for application:
* Master's degree (M.Sc. or comparable) in biology or related fields
* High motivation and interest in linking genetic, cell biological, and evolutionary aspects
* Work experience with molecular and/or cell biological techniques
Ideally, you possess:
* Experience with with Arabidopsis and/or bryophyte model organisms
* Knowledge in bioinformatic methods
* Structured, independent and team-oriented working style
* Excellent command of English (oral and written)
