Based from their HQ in Hamburg, with frequent trips to the fabrication site in Rostock, my client are looking for an experienced Fabrication Engineer with a background supporting the delivery and quality assurance of offshore wind foundation fabrication (monopiles, transition pieces, jackets), ensuring compliance with technical specifications, project schedules, and industry standards from design finalization to ready-for-installation handover.
The Role:
Perform technical evaluation and support selection, approval, and performance monitoring of foundation suppliers in cooperation with the Fabrication Manager and HSEQ team, including participation in supplier audits. Act as the subject matter expert for fabrication requirements, owning Employer Requirements, supporting technical clarifications, and contributing to contract negotiations. Review and coordinate fabrication documentation, including drawings, WPS, QA/QC records, ITPs, TQs, NCRs, and as-built documentation, ensuring alignment with approved designs and specifications. Support and participate in inspections, FATs, pre-shipment checks, and fabrication yard site visits, ensuring compliance with welding, coating, certification, storage, and handling requirements. Track fabrication progress and milestones, manage non-conformities and corrective actions, liaise with certification bodies, and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement.
Your experience & Qualifications 3–6 years of experience in fabrication engineering or quality assurance, preferably within offshore wind or heavy marine structures. Strong understanding of offshore foundation fabrication processes, including welding, NDT, and corrosion protection. Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, DNV, EN) and certification processes. Experience with fabrication monitoring, contractor coordination, and quality control procedures. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Welding Engineering, or similar. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail. Fluent in English (written and spoken), German language skills are an asset
