Position Description:

As an Experienced DevSecOps Engineer SPACE (m/f/d), you combine strong hands-on expertise with the ability to take ownership of implementation topics and guide less experienced colleagues. You act as a bridge between security architecture and hands-on delivery within CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms and container-based environments.
You remain close to the technology while structuring work, reviewing results and ensuring high-quality implementation. At the same time, you take responsibility for driving technical topics forward within project teams.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
1. Design, implement and operate security controls within CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
2. Integrate automated security checks (e.g. SAST, DAST, dependency scanning) into build and deployment processes
3. Analyse vulnerabilities and security incidents and implement effective mitigation measures
4. Translate security architecture and requirements into concrete technical implementations
5. Take ownership of DevSecOps-related work packages within projects
6. Guide and support junior engineers in their day-to-day technical work
7. Review implementations and ensure quality and consistency of delivered solutions
8. Contribute to the secure design and operation of cloud and container environments
9. Collaborate with development, operations and security teams to ensure end-to-end security integration
10. Support the implementation of compliance requirements in technical environments (e.g. ISO, BSI frameworks)
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
11. Solid professional experience in DevOps, IT security and software engineering
12. Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
13. Practical experience with security tooling (e.g. SAST, DAST, dependency scanning)
14. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security concepts
15. Strong understanding of container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
16. Ability to translate security requirements into robust technical implementations
17. Experience in guiding or mentoring less experienced team members
18. Structured, reliable and solution-oriented way of working
19. Degree in computer science, IT security, engineering or a comparable qualification
20. Very good communication skills in English; working proficiency in German
Nice To Have
21. Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments (e.g. space, aerospace, defence)
22. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
23. Experience with monitoring and security observability (e.g. SIEM, logging, alerting)
24. Knowledge of threat modelling and secure software development practices
25. Willingness and eligibility to undergo a security clearance process (subject to applicable regulations)
