We are partnering with a well‑known retail bank in Germany that is currently broadening its product offering and strengthening its second line of defence. To support this growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Risk Manager. Your Responsibilities You will take ownership of a range of analytical and conceptual topics, such as: Further developing the bank's financial risk framework in line with regulatory expectations (Pillar I/II), including internal capital and liquidity adequacy processes. Designing and enhancing methodologies for the assessment of financial risks, including scenario‑based analyses, stress testing, and model‑based evaluations. Supporting the periodic update of risk strategies and the bank's risk inventory by connecting business planning with risk‑relevant developments. Assessing regulatory changes (national/EU‑level) and ensuring that the bank's internal procedures, models, and documentation reflect supervisory standards. Promoting a strong risk culture by reviewing internal processes, advising business units on risk‑adequate design, and identifying improvement areas in governance and controls. Providing expertise on retail‑bank‑specific processes and contributing to the interpretation of regulatory guidelines in a practical, business‑oriented manner. Acting as a central point of contact for cross‑functional stakeholders-including Finance, Controlling, and senior management-and representing Risk Management in group-level exchanges. Your Profile A degree in business, economics, mathematics, or similar; alternatively, a banking qualification paired with relevant professional experience. Several years of experience in risk management within the banking sector, with strong exposure to financial-risk‑related topics and regulatory requirements. Solid quantitative abilities and familiarity with the development, understanding, or use of risk models. Practical experience with the implementation of regulatory or methodological concepts in a comparable environment. Strong analytical thinking, a structured working style, and a high degree of reliability. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and business‑oriented manner. Languages: Excellent German and very good English.
