HYROX is a global sports event series that combines running and functional fitness training in a unique race format. Founded in Germany in 2017, HYROX has evolved into a worldwide fitness movement with events across five continents, attracting tens of thousands of athletes every season.

We’re seeking an Event Layout Designer to lead the technical design and optimization of HYROX event floorplans globally. This role requires advanced AutoCAD expertise and the ability to interpret operational requirements into clear, buildable venue layouts.

You’ll own the technical accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of event plans — ensuring every venue delivers the same world-class HYROX experience, no matter the location or scale.

In the context of HYROX, layout design means managing how every square meter of a venue is used — from athlete flow and spectator circulation to equipment placement, sponsor activations, and emergency routes — and turning that into technical drawings (AutoCAD plans) that can be executed on-site.

CORE DEFINITION

Spatial layout management is the process of designing and optimizing the physical arrangement of elements within a defined space to maximize operational efficiency, safety, and user experience.

Key components

* Spatial Planning: Determining what goes where — mapping out functional zones (e.g. start/finish, warm-up, merchandise, partner areas).

* Flow Optimization: Ensuring intuitive, conflict-free movement for athletes, spectators, staff, and logistics.

* Technical Feasibility: Making sure designs fit within the venue’s actual physical constraints (pillars, exits, floor load limits, etc.).

* CAD Documentation: Producing precise drawings that can be used by production teams, vendors, and venue operators.

* Standardization: Developing layout templates and scalable design systems that can be reused across multiple venues.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Lead the design and optimization of global event floorplans using AutoCAD.

* Build and refine 2D venue models to communicate layouts effectively.

* Analyze and adapt layouts for athlete flow, capacity optimization, and operational safety .

* Collaborate cross-functionally (Operations, Commercial, Branding, Audio-Visual, Logistics) to translate each event’s needs into technical drawings.

* Conduct on-site venue measurements and assessments, updating digital drawings accordingly.

* Develop and maintain global layout templates, CAD block libraries, and scaling standards.

* Support capacity modeling and spatial data management across multiple venue types.

* Ensure layout designs are delivered on time, are operationally feasible, and comply with local regulations and safety guidelines

YOUR PROFILE

* 3–5 years of experience in CAD-based layout or technical design — ideally in live events, exhibitions, or venue planning (less experience may be considered for a Junior role).

* Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D a plus); Vectorworks, SketchUp, or Rhino beneficial.

* Deep understanding of spatial layout, event circulation, and build feasibility .

* Strong visual and technical communication skills — can present layouts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

* Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and tight turnaround times.

* Fluent in English; German a plus.

* Passion for sport, design, and live event experiences.
