About the Role - As Power Plant Operations Despatcher - Trading House, your key remit will be to act as the critical bridge between physical power generation and financial markets. You will manage the moment-to-moment flow of electricity, ensuring power plants execute the trading floor's strategies, balance supply and demand in real-time, and maximize profitability. to provide operational support monitoring numerous renewable energy sources and determining where energy flow should be redirection. Optimal operation of all assets managing and coordinating energy resources (power plants, energy storage systems) to meet real-time electricity demand efficiently, economically, and in line with grid requirements which will in turn this will maximise trade prices for stakeholders.
This is NOT an engineering or technical role, but it is an operational role that requires the ability to undertake several operational duties. You will be working under pressure in time-critical situations so your ability to multi-task and priortise, will be an essential part of the job.
Responsibilities will include:
* Real-Time Execution: Continuously monitor the real-time performance of energy plants and assets to ensure they run according to the trading book's day-ahead and intraday physical schedules.
* Market Bidding: Interacting with grid operators to submit price-volume bids and adapt to changing conditions in wholesale electricity markets
* Congestion and Outage Management: Adjusting plant output or rerouting power when transmission lines are congested or prices dictate a change in strategy.
* Continuous Communication: Coordinate, monitor and communicate trade-related processes to all necessary parties.
Required Skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Proficiency in engaging in business discussions and negotiations is essential.
* Previous experience in a similar role as a power plant dispatcher - trade will be highly advantageous
* Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions in time-critical situations.
* Flexible working attitude
* Native or fluent German speaker essential with excellent English language skills is essential
