Financial Accountant – 6 Month Contract | Frankfurt (Hybrid)

The Role:
As a Financial Accountant, you'll take ownership of financial reporting and compliance responsibilities across German legal entities. You’ll play a key part in ensuring statutory requirements are met, partnering with internal stakeholders and external auditors, while contributing to a culture of transparency, integrity, and agility.
What You'll Do:
* Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L analysis
* Prepare statutory financial statements under German GAAP and IFRS
* Support external audits and ensure timely completion of statutory obligations
* Assist in the preparation of tax and VAT returns, and reconcile related accounts
* Handle Accounts Payable and serve as the point of contact for T&E queries
* Collaborate with the payroll team and support payroll postings and reviews
* Contribute to ongoing legal entity rationalization projects
Requirements
What You Bring:
* ACA / ACCA / CPA / CA or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting or financial reporting
* Strong knowledge of German GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls
* Experience with VAT, tax accounting, and audit preparation
* Fluency in English (German is a plus)
* Meticulous attention to detail and an analytical mindset
* A hands-on, collaborative approach with the ability to meet tight deadlines

Requirements
Basic Qualifications: Accounting Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research abilities with keen attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Willingness to work rotational shifts as per business needs. Preferred Qualifications: 1–3 years of relevant experience. Experience using Salesforce or Oracle.
