NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
The shift pattern for this post is 5 days over 7.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for staff to join the GGC Advanced Practice Physiotherapy team in South and Clyde sectors. We offer full or part-time positions across both sectors, with involvement in spine clinics and other specialist areas such as shoulder, hand, hip, and knee. Candidates will be recruited based on experience, with additional training provided as needed.
Post holders will work as autonomous expert musculoskeletal practitioners in Orthopaedic clinics, utilizing specialized knowledge to determine appropriate management, including surgery listing, imaging, and referrals. Candidates should have a physiotherapy degree, HCPC registration, and postgraduate education relevant to the specialty. Significant postgraduate experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy is required, with applicants ideally having AFC Band 7 experience or equivalent. A qualification in joint and soft tissue injections is preferable.
The role requires flexibility to meet service demands, including occasional changes to job plans. Responsibilities include leading service improvement projects, audits, providing education to colleagues, and maintaining a physiotherapy caseload for complex cases and second opinion clinics, subject to change based on service needs.
Depending on experience and qualifications, applicants may be recruited as APPs or Trainee APPs, in line with Annex 21 guidance.
