Senior Accountant (RETN GmbH)
We are medium size fast-growing Telecom Company, which is part of the international group with HQ in London, UK. We are dynamic and agile business with positive attitude and passionate about what we do. To support the growth of our business we are searching for a candidate for the position of the Senior Accountant. We are looking for hands on, proactive Senior Accountant who is a team player, but able to work on their own and will be playing an important role in our expanding team.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will report to the CFO and be responsible for the full spectrum of financial, tax, and accounting matters. This role will oversee all day-to-day accounting operations of the German entity and manage an Accountant.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions: maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and review and approve journal entries and accruals,
* Ensure timely month-end and year-end closure in accordance with the HGB and IFRS standards for Group purposes,
* Maintain Fixed assets Register and other relevant schedules (Prepayments, Accruals, Deferred income, Lease, etc),
* Preparation of management accounts and reports for Group reporting purposes (P&L, Balance sheet, Cash flow statement, Fixed assets movements) including variances analysis,
* Preparation and filling VAT and Corporation Tax returns,
* Preparation of financial statements for German entity,
* Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting regulations,
* Liaise with Group Reporting Manager, external auditors, tax advisers and state authorities,
* Be responsible for annual audit of German entity,
* Monitor cash flow and support cash forecasting,
* Ensure timely payment runs and liquidity management,
* Additional duties/projects as assigned by management.
Qualification & Experience
* A degree in Accounting and Finance or Accounting qualification,
* Relevant accounting experience (preferably in multi-national company), at least 5 years working in Germany,
* Working knowledge of HGB and IFRS standards,
* Must have solid experience on mentioned above accounting activities,
* Must have knowledge of current German tax and statutory requirements,
* Knowledge of Microsoft office,
* Prior experience with Sage/Xero/Lucanet would be advantage,
* Strong organizational skills, analytic skills, attention to details,
* Experience of working with Big 10 audit firms,
* Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadline with little supervision,
* Managerial experience of accountants team.
* Working hours: Monday – Friday: 09:00 till 17:30,
