About us:
The School VI of Medicine and Health Sciences comprises the fields of human medicine, medical physics and acoustics, neurosciences, psychology and health services research. Together with the four regional hospitals, School VI forms the University Medicine Oldenburg. Furthermore, the university cooperates closely with the University Medicine of the University of Groningen.
At the Division of Ambulatory Assessment in Psychology at the University of Oldenburg, we study cognition and behavior in older adults as well as in clinical populations, such as individuals with Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. A central focus of our work is the development and evaluation of non-pharmacological interventions aimed at preventing cognitive decline and improving its understanding in ambulatory (real-world) settings. Our goal is to systematically assess cognitive processes and behavior in patients' everyday lives, to establish and optimize neuropsychological diagnostics outside of traditional clinical settings, and to integrate interventions such as cognitive training, physical interventions, and mobile neuromodulation techniques (e.g., transcranial direct current stimulation) into patients' daily environments. In doing so, we consider both interindividual differences as well as the perspectives of patients and their relatives.
The funded project TransVer aims to develop and validate ambulatory cognitive assessment tools in order to sustainably improve neuropsychological care for individuals living in rural regions of Lower Saxony. The project focuses on transferring established neuropsychological concepts into digital, everyday-life-compatible assessment formats. TransVer is an interdisciplinary collaborative project and offers the opportunity to work closely with partners from various disciplines. Its scientific focus lies in cognitive neuropsychology at the interface of technology, diagnostics, and healthcare provision.
The position is intended as a doctoral (PhD) position and offers the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree within the framework of the project.

Your profile:
Required / Hiring Requirements
* A completed university degree (MSc or equivalent) in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field
* Knowledge of statistics and initial programming experience (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python, or related software)
Desirable / Advantageous
* Initial experience in ambulatory assessment and/or experience sampling methods in everyday-life settings
* Initial experience working with patients with cognitive impairments
