We are seeking a Head of Client Engineering EMEA (m/f/d) for a global leader in the Smart Manufacturing space. Our client develops a sophisticated cloud-based platform that streamlines the engineering lifecycle for industrial hardware and is known for a high-growth culture that rewards execution and offers strong opportunities for professional development.
You will lead and scale the Client Engineering organization across EMEA, ensuring technical excellence from first customer discovery through commissioning and long-term customer satisfaction. You take full ownership of the pre- and post-sales engineering lifecycle and build a high-performing, customer-centric team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop teams across Application Engineering, Commissioning, and Customer Experience
* Own technical pre-sales for complex automation projects, partnering closely with Sales on discovery calls, opportunity qualification, and solution design
* Act as a technical and strategic sparring partner for key customers across EMEA
* Ensure a smooth handover from sales to execution and successful on-time, high-quality project delivery
* Coach, hire, and develop engineers and team leads in a fast-growing, junior-heavy environment
* Mediate between Sales and Engineering to balance commercial ambition with technical feasibility
* Drive continuous improvement through project post-mortems, risk assessments, and lessons learned
* Collaborate closely with EMEA leadership and global stakeholders
Your Profile
* 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or system integration
* Strong hands-on background in robotics / cobots (e.g. UR, Fanuc, ABB), motion control, PLC / logic programming
* Proven track record in building and leading engineering teams in a growth-oriented environment
* Solid experience across both technical pre-sales and post-sales delivery
* Deep understanding of end-to-end project lifecycles, from concept and design to FAT and on-site commissioning
* Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate vision into executable solutions
* Fluent in English; German and/or French is a strong advantage
* A leader who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership, challenges the status quo, and advocates for their team
