Senior QA Engineer (m/f/d) – 2‑Year Fixed Term

The Role
We are looking for a quality‑driven Senior QA Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role you will own ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through strategic test planning, automation and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams. You will embed quality early in the development lifecycle and continuously improve our QA processes and tooling. This is a fixed‑term position for two years to cover parental leave.
Responsibilities
 * Proactively identify opportunities to improve QA processes and drive implementation across teams
 * Evaluate and pilot new tools and technologies in test automation, bringing fresh ideas and innovation into the team
 * Collaborate closely with DevOps, development, and product management to embed quality early in the development process
 * Design and implement strategies for end‑to‑end, API, and performance testing to ensure comprehensive coverage
 * Analyze test metrics and derive actionable measures to continuously improve product quality
 * Document test processes and actively share knowledge and best practices within QA and engineering teams
What We Are Looking For
 * Minimum 8 years of professional experience in software quality assurance
 * Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience with Playwright and TypeScript plus experience with Selenium or similar for UI and API testing
 * Familiarity with Swagger for API documentation and test preparation
 * Experience with CI/CD environments (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)
 * Understanding of agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban)
 * Strong analytical and systematic thinking skills
 * Ability to work effectively in fully remote teams – proactive communication and coordination
 * Experience with test strategies such as regression testing, exploratory testing, and smoke testing
 * Professional‑level English proficiency (written and spoken)
 * Interest in and initial hands‑on experience with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, AI‑assisted test generation)
Nice to have
 * Experience with performance and load testing (e.g., k6, JMeter)
 * Experience with security and penetration testing
 * Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
 * Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)
 * Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, ELK Stack)
 * German language skills
