Freelance Construction Manager – Brownfield Chemical Plant

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Construction Manager to support works on a live brownfield chemical manufacturing facility at Chemiepark Marl in North Rhine Westphalia.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee all on‑site construction activities within an operational brownfield environment
* Ensure strict compliance with HSE, permit‑to‑work, and Chemiepark Marl site regulations
* Coordinate subcontractors, construction teams, and site supervision
* Interface closely with operations, engineering, and project management teams to minimise disruption to live plant activities
* Monitor progress against programme, managing risks, changes, and site constraints
* Lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
* Report on schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance
Required Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as a Construction Manager on chemical, petrochemical, or process industry sites
* Background in Mechanical Engineering
* Strong brownfield and live plant experience is essential
* In‑depth knowledge of construction HSE standards within chemical manufacturing environments
* Confident managing multiple subcontractors and complex interfaces
* Ability to work effectively within highly regulated industrial sites
* Fluent English and German is essential
