Job Title: Chief Engineer, Ropeways
The Chief Engineer in the Ropeways department of the Amusement Rides, Water Parks and Ropeways Division for North America is responsible for overseeing technical reviews, inspections, audits, and consultations related to ropeway systems such as ski lifts and urban transport systems.
Key responsibilities include:
* Review and approve technical documents for new ropeway systems in North America, ensuring compliance with ANSI B77 and other relevant standards.
* Lead technical training and development of department personnel, including obtaining certifications and accreditation for TÜV SÜD America Ropeways group.
* Collaborate with quality management teams to develop auditing and inspection systems.
* Maintain and expand professional qualifications, including licensure as a Professional Engineer, with a willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
* Coordinate with global and regional teams to develop programs enhancing TÜV SÜD's service offerings in the industry.
* Serve as the primary contact for new ropeway projects in North America.
Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Responsibilities
* Represent TÜV SÜD at industry events and coordinate expert resources.
* Provide expert analysis and consultation during project initiation.
* Advocate internally for the business segment to raise awareness of industry needs.
* Expand revenue through existing and new ropeway clients by offering additional services.
* Lead technical aspects and signatory authority for North American ropeway projects.
* Support other projects such as Amusement Rides as needed.
Education and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, physics, or related technical field.
* Registered Professional Engineer, current license.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Over 10 years of experience in ropeways.
* 5-10 years familiarity with technical regulations, standards, and directives.
* Proven leadership in initiating and managing new projects and managing teams.
