The National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE supports the digitization of society, the economy, and the public sector through application-oriented and excellence-driven research and development in the field of cybersecurity and privacy protection. ATHENE's work and contributions are aimed at making the digital world of tomorrow more secure. ATHENE is a research center of the Fraunhofer Society with the participation of universities such as the Technical University of Darmstadt, Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt, and Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
Fraunhofer SIT is the largest contributor to the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE and has close ties to Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.
As part of the BMBF-funded project “Real-world laboratory for modern cybersecurity in research institutions” (AIGIS-Lab), we are looking for a research assistant to join our team as soon as possible.
Be part of change
* Collaboration in the creation and implementation of a zero-trust architecture for research institutions, including procurement, configuration, and evaluation
* Conducting analyses to identify security requirements in research institutions and their IT infrastructures
* Conducting test series to evaluate the developed security architectures in a real environment, including evaluation and presentation of results
* Supporting project management in coordinating project activities and communicating with project partners
* Preparing scientific publications and reports and presenting research results at conferences and workshops
What you contribute
* Completed university degree (master's or diploma) in computer science, IT security, information science, or a related field
* In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity, network security, and IT infrastructures
* Experience with zero-trust architectures or related security concepts is an advantage
* High degree of initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Very good written and spoken German and English skills

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
