Senior Compliance officer
I have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious compliance officer to be based in the Hamburg office for an international trading firm. This is role will provide a great development opportunity to liaise with the German regulators, shape their German compliance and governance program and work with senior management in Germany and internationally.
This opportunity suits someone who wants to grow into a head of compliance role that has experience of working within a compliance role within a trading business.
Role is paying circa 100,000 euros with good bonus potential
Role responsibilities
* Own, implement, and regularly review the compliance policy and control framework for the Hamburg entity.
* Oversee local compliance monitoring, reporting, and escalation processes.
* interact with German regulatory authorities – primarily the Bundesbank and Bafin.
* Horizon scanning for regulatory change from EU and Germany impacting the firm and its relationship with its parent. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of changes.
* Support Managing Directors in implementing compliance solutions to relevant EU and German regulations, including MiFID II, EMIR, MAR, AMLD, WpIG, MaRisk and exchange trading rules.
* Prepare and deliver compliance training and awareness sessions for staff.
* Lead interactions with external compliance support vendors and parent company support teams.
* Support the management of outsourcing arrangements and ensure compliance with applicable outsourcing regulations.
* Liaise with auditors and other external stakeholders as required.
* Own periodic regulatory reporting and liaise with parent transaction reporting team to ensure ongoing compliance.
1. Expertise & Requirements
* Robust knowledge of EU derivatives trading regulations and German implementing legislation for investment firms (MiFID II, EMIR, MAR, AMLD) and exchange trading rules.
* Strong understanding of compliance and risk control processes, including monitoring and reporting.
* Demonstrated expertise in compliance monitoring, reporting, and regulatory engagement.
