Main tasks
The Endothelial Cell Biology group (AG Beerens) investigates the molecular mechanisms that control cardiovascular development and disease using advanced in vitro, zebrafish and mouse models with subsequent validation in patient material. We have identified several molecules and signaling pathways that are remarkably active in the cardiovascular system, but whose function during development or disease is still unknown. We are therefore looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to further investigate their role during cardiovascular development and disease.
Your tasks:
* Writing and presenting your research results
* FACS analyses, fluorescence microscopy, immunoblotting, cell culture work, coagulation tests, ELISA, protein isolation, work with mice, etc.
* Critical thinking and an analytical mindset
* Planning and conducting cell biological and animal studies
The position is to be filled for an initial period of 18 months, with the possibility of a one-year extension. The start date is flexible, but should be no later than March 2026.
Your Profile
* Completed doctoral studies in biology, pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry or a comparable natural science program
* Motivated, curious and willing to work in an international team of scientists and clinicians to explore new hypotheses and insights relevant to human disease
* Previous laboratory experience, in-depth knowledge of the cardiovascular system, and/or previous experience with mouse models is recommended but not required
* Interest in scientific issues, in particular the cardiovascular system
* Good knowledge of English, MS Office, PRISM, and other relevant software
* Ability to work in a team, commitment, flexibility, independence, coordination and organizational skills
We look forward to receiving your complete application (including two references).
