Overview
GMV is an experienced technology group seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with strong programming fundamentals, Kubernetes expertise, and solid system design skills to contribute to the Galileo project, Europe’s global navigation satellite system (GNSS) providing highly accurate positioning and timing services worldwide.
We are expanding our teams in the software engineering sector to take on our work in the Galileo project. The role involves providing support, developing scalable and maintainable systems, and contributing across the stack with a focus on backend development, Kubernetes-native tooling, and extending reliable automation. You will also act as Technical Lead of the automation system.
What we need in our team
We are looking for experts in software engineering with background and interest in the Galileo project. If you want to take on this position, you should have experience in the following areas:
* Containers & Orchestration: Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes (Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, etc.), Helm, and application lifecycle management.
* Programming: Strong backend development skills (e.g., Golang, Python, C/C++), solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, and API development (REST/GraphQL).
* Event-Driven Architecture: Experience with event-driven systems, asynchronous workflows, and message brokers like Kafka.
* System Design: Skilled in designing distributed, fault-tolerant, and scalable architectures with trade-off evaluation.
* Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, end-to-end feature ownership, and effective communication in cross-functional teams.
We will also value previous experience and knowledge in:
* Golang, Python, NodeJS, Typescript.
* Creating CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
* Exposure to React and UI integration with backend APIs.
* Understanding of modern frontend build tooling (e.g., Webpack).
