Position Description:
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the technical design and hands-on implementation of complex IT solutions across heterogeneous system landscapes. You combine architectural expertise with practical delivery experience and support projects end-to-end, from analysis and design through to successful integration into existing IT environments.
Your focus is on technical feasibility, clean integration of diverse systems and technologies, and the sustainable evolution of existing platforms. You collaborate closely with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to ensure that architectural concepts are implemented in a robust and efficient way.
In this role, you contribute directly to building scalable and sustainable IT landscapes that support critical business processes and long-term organizational success.
You bring a broad, vendor-agnostic technology perspective and are able to evaluate, combine, and implement solutions from different providers.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
•Build scalable and sustainable IT landscapes that support critical business processes!
•Design and implement IT architectures in complex, hybrid environments (on-premises, cloud, hybrid)
•Integrate applications, interfaces, middleware, and infrastructure solutions
•Analyze existing system landscapes and derive concrete technical optimization measures
•Perform installations, configurations, and technical proof-of-concepts
•Evaluate and select suitable technologies, platforms, and products with regard to performance, scalability, and security
•Create technical architecture and integration documentation
•Support migration, transformation, and modernization initiatives
•Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure stable deployments
•Conduct technical troubleshooting in complex system environments
•Continuously monitor the market and assess new technologies for practical applicability
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
•We value strong practical experience and technical excellence - regardless of formal education background
•Proven hands-on experience in system integration and working with complex IT architectures
•Solid, cross-product expertise in several of the following areas:
oCloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
oVirtualization and container technologies (e.g., VMware, Kubernetes, Docker)
oNetworking and security
oMiddleware and integration technologies (REST, messaging, API management)
oDatabases and storage technologies
oAutomation and DevOps toolchains
•Experience installing, configuring, and integrating widely used vendor solutions
•Good understanding of the IT market and available technologies and products
•Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style
•Strong communication skills and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
•Professional proficiency in English, as client communication is typically conducted in English
•German language skills are a plus
