Übersicht
The SHEQ Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and continuously improving the company's Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality management systems in Germany. This role ensures full compliance with legal, regulatory, customer, and corporate requirements while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence across all facilities.
The SHEQ Manager acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for workplace safety, environmental protection, and quality assurance, providing guidance, training, and governance to all departments. The role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting strategic business goals.
The SHEQ Manager coordinate and support SHEQ teams at both German sites (Wurzen, Neuenburg).
Verantwortungsbereiche
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
* Develop, implement, and maintain SHE programs according to national regulations and corporate standards.
* Ensure compliance with German occupational safety laws (ArbSchG, BetrSichV, DGUV regulations).
* Conduct and lead risk assessments, workplace inspections, and hazard analyses.
* Organize and coordinate ASA meetings (Occupational Safety Committee)
* Manage incident reporting, investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
* Maintain SHE documentation, procedures, and training records.
* Coordinate external audits, regulatory inspections, and certifications (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO
* Lead safety awareness programs, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness activities.
* Promote a proactive and preventive safety culture.
Quality Management (QM)
* Maintain and develop the local Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
* Support internal and external audits, including customer and supplier audits.
* Monitor quality KPIs, non-conformities, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects.
* Ensure proper documentation control, process compliance, and quality standards adherence.
* Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain to improve process stability and product quality.
SHEQ Governance & Leadership
* Act as the primary contact for SHEQ matters with customers, authorities, and corporate departments.
* Provide and organize SHEQ training and guidance to employees and managers.
* Support management in creating SHEQ strategies, annual plans, and KPIs.
* Drive cross-functional improvement initiatives following PDCA/LEAN principles.
* Report SHEQ performance data and trends to senior leadership.
* Working with corporate to follow and fulfil the benchmark software implementation
Qualifikationen
Education:
• Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) is highly preferred.Technical competencies:
• Strong knowledge of German SHE legislation and ISO management standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO
• Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, or similar methods.
• Competence in managing audits, compliance processes, and improvement programs.
• Familiarity with LEAN and continuous improvement tools is an advantage.
Professional experience:
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a SHEQ, HSE, or Quality leadership role within manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Proven ability to implement and maintain management systems across multiple functions or sites.Personal competencies:
