KG Organization EVP Global Functions Business Unit Innovation Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As Senior Intellectual Property Counsel with a high degree of responsibility and accountability, you will draft patent applications and carry out prosecution for a diverse set of electro-mechanical and computer-implemented inventions, as well as other inventions to drive the energy transition. You will also provide Intellectual Property advice and counseling on all Intellectual Property related matters (, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, Intellectual Property terms in contracts, freedom-to-operate clearances, and legal opinions).How You’ll Make an Impact
13. Advise on all Intellectual Property related matters and provide business-oriented Intellectual Property solutions to the business to facilitate business goals and objectives
14. Work with inventors and engineering teams, esp. to draft patent applications, to protect innovations and engage with our businesses to build credibility and trust. Conduct and facilitate in-house Intellectual Property training
15. Drive implementation of Intellectual Property strategies, conduct Intellectual Property evaluations and manage Intellectual Property portfolios
16. Conduct effective Intellectual Property risk management, freedom-to-operate analyses, validity opinions, other legal advice, etc.
17. Review and negotiate Intelelctual Property clauses in agreements and tenders to ensure Intellectual Property ownership, to secure opportunities and to mitigate risks
18. Collaborate closely with colleagues in our global Intellectual Property team in other locations as well as with colleagues from our Legal department and liaise with and supervise external counsel (including instructions, quality assessment, cost and compliance control)
What You Bring
19. A European Patent Attorney qualification; scientific or technical university degree ( electrical or other engineering, informatics/ computer science, physics, energy related science etc.)
20. Professional experience in an Intellectual Property law firm or legal department of a multinational company
21. Experience in implementation of Intellectual Property strategies, Intellectual Property licensing/transaction, patent drafting and prosecution, legal opinions, freedom-to-operate analysis
22. Legal expertise in European jurisdictions with knowledge in national, supra-national and international Intellectual Property laws (, patent, copyright, trademark laws and related fields)
23. High level of proficiency in verbal and written English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with intercultural sensitivity and the ability to explain and to solve complex technical, Intellectual Property and legal matters
24. You are a business-minded team player with a hands-on mentality and collegial personality who is result-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
