Job Description
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Country Finance Director for Hitachi Energy in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. You will serve as the Senior Business Partner from a country perspective, reporting to the Country Managing Director (CMD) and functionally to the Regional Finance Director (RFD). Your role involves supporting the CMD and the local Frontend Sales organization in demand order growth, driving Local Business Finance Manager tasks, and ensuring compliance with all local cross-business-specific finance and fiduciary requirements. The role is preferably based in Switzerland.
How you will make an impact
1. Act as the local speaking partner to the global CFO organization and represent the finance function in the countries.
2. Ensure compliance with local fiduciary finance requirements, statutory GAAP, reporting, legal, and tax regulations, with support from CSS and CPO.
3. Support corporate and global functions in developing financial and tax strategies, including acquisitions, due diligence, and negotiations at the country level.
4. Maintain relationships with external auditors and represent Hitachi Energy locally, managing partnerships with external stakeholders such as authorities and organizations.
5. Build strong relationships with key customers at a senior level.
6. Support global CFO organization in local talent development and building functional competence.
Your Background
1. Proven experience in financial management within large international organizations, ideally as a CFO or CFD.
2. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and coach teams.
4. Deep knowledge of German/Swiss GAAP and local fiduciary rules.
5. Ability to work independently and manage projects end-to-end.
6. Strategic thinker with business acumen and hands-on approach.
7. Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
8. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
9. Willing to spend every two weeks four days in Germany (40%).
